Boeing Defence UK is looking for a Senior Network Administrator to support various technical requirements within a busy IT Infrastructure team. This role will involve contributing to the delivery of projects and sustainment within a demanding environment supporting Boeing Defence UK operations.
The role whilst hybrid there will be an expectation to our other sites and datacentres. You will be involved in project activities, daily support and network configuration.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for delivering outcomes for various request that present themselves to the network team. Equally comfortable, confident and professional whether on the end of a phone or ‘hands-on’ at a desk within a number of site we support, you will be the sort of individual that takes pride in providing a first-rate service and genuinely enjoys solving IT issues for colleagues at all levels
Responsibilities
- Continuously looking for improvements to ensure services operated are aligned to industry best practice and Boeing enterprise best practices.
- Responding to events, requests and incidents logged in management systems.
- Performing analysis of log files, systems, and network traffic.
- Working to well-defined SLAs & KPIs
- Contribute to daily task requests within the team
- Identify and raise technical challenges and limitations within the networking estate
- Provide network advice and support to various projects and programmes
- Represent Networks and Infrastructure at meetings where necessary
- On-call support 1 week in 3.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Experience using tools like Zabbix, SolarWinds, or Splunk for network monitoring / troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and ICMP.
- Use of Wireshark and packet-tracer commands to diagnose connectivity issues.
- Managing, configuring, and supporting Infoblox Core Network Services (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM—commonly known as DDI)

- Cisco CCNA
- Cisco ACI
- Cisco Nexus 9000 switches
- ASA / Firepower
- Windows Server Technology
- Catalyst IOS XE
- F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager
Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Shift
- Participation in a shift pattern covering 7AM – 7PM Monday to Friday.
